Dive In Deep!

I have a widely varied background that makes me uniquely equipped to cut through the fog and help you bring clarity to your desires and needs.

I started teaching in 1992 as an intern with the Johns Hopkins Summer Enrichment Program at Polytechnic School in Pasadena, CA.  I also taught as a teaching assistant while completing my undergraduate education at UC Santa Cruz.  At New York University I taught for both the university and the adult German Language school at Deutsches Haus.

In 1997 I moved from graduate school to working with an international exchange program for young professionals, through which I learned about intercultural communications and competency.  I designed and taught intercultural training sessions, as well as conducting countless counseling sessions with participants, host families, and even employers about how to bridge communication gaps and understand someone from a vastly different cultural context.

In 2004 I moved from Berlin, Germany to Los Angeles to start my life over again after a divorce.  I wanted a more authentic, honest and fulfilling life, and one of the first tools I found in making that change was Cuddle Party.  Cuddle parties offered me the chance to learn how to say no without fear, recognize and ask for what I want, and also to get the touch I was craving without engendering expectations or having to date.  I became very enthusiastic and, in April of 2005, began co-facilitating Cuddle Parties with Andrew Schwartz of CuddleLA.  I am still a certified Cuddle Party facilitator.

In 2005 I completed a 150-hour course of massage therapy training at the California College of Massage and Bodywork.  Though I decided that massage therapy was not something I want to pursue full time, I do enjoy massage and use the skills I learned to help clients release deeply held blocks and access repressed and stored emotions.

Also in 2005, I began coaching clients who came to me at cuddle parties, wanting to take the Cuddle Party rules and philosophy deeper.  Together we worked on the skills taught at cuddle parties, including good boundary setting, clear and clean communication, recognizing desire and asking for what you want, and not taking things personally.  This simple structure has yielded some incredible results, and is even more powerful now that I have chosen to concentrate on digging into desire as a source of power, strength and motivation.

In 2007 I began my training with David Elliott in breathwork healing.  I am continuing in that training and will soon be holding group breathwork circles, but am at this time a full-fledged healer in David's tradition.  As the work continues, my intution and understanding of the power of the breath only continues to deepen.
